Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ

Are you interested in organizing a course on your research area of expertise?

The Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Advanced Courses are focused scientific courses on advanced topics in the molecular life sciences. They are organized to provide research updates, training, and networking for scientists working in a similar area.

The Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Advanced Courses have a strong educational element, that makes them especially valuable to PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. The course formats comprise Advanced Lecture Courses, Workshops, Practical Courses, Combined Practical and Lecture Courses, and Special Meetings.

Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ provides financial support (from €20,000 to €40,000, depending on the course type) to small teams of expert scientists to organize Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Advanced Courses throughout Europe and neighbouring regions (in countries that have a Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Constituent Society).

This year Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ and IUBMB are co-funding a joint course – the Joint Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ/IUBMB Advanced Course – with a wider geographical spread, as it can be held in any country that has an .

The next deadline to submit a Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Advanced Course application is 1 September 2026 (for courses to be delivered in 2027). Refer to the Round 2 guidelines for the 2027 call for more information.

Organizers can also apply for additional funds from Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ and IUBMB to support via small grants the attendance at the courses of a number of PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.

For an overview of topics and formats, you can browse the Advanced Courses calendar for courses being delivered in 2026, as well as view courses in previous years. You can also read on the Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Network, to get an overview of their objectives and experiences at the courses.

We would be delighted if you would share the above information at your institution and with your collaborators and research networks.
