Support for members of Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Societies
FINANCIAL SUPPORT for early-career RESEARCHERS
Since its earliest days, Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ has had a strong emphasis on promoting the training of young scientists during their PhD studies and also during the post-doctoral stages of research careers. Financial support has also recently been extended to the early-career group leader stage.
PhD students and early-career postdoctoral scientists who are members of a Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Constituent Society of Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ are eligible to apply for:
- a range of research Fellowships such as Short-Term and Summer Fellowships
- Youth Travel Fund grants to support costs for participation in Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Advanced Courses
- YSF grants to support costs for participation in the Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Young Scientists’ Forum and the ensuing annual Congress
- bursaries to support participation in the Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Congress
In addition, early-career group leaders may be eligible to apply for the Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Excellence Awards to support research costs.

Financial support for researchers in disadvantaged Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ countries
In addition to the opportunities above for early-career researchers, scientists from countries with Hinari (Research4Life) status in the Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ area, who are members of their Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Constituent Society, may be eligible for:
- Ukrainian Short-Term Fellowships to support research visits abroad
- the Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Congress Mathias Sprinzl scheme for reduced registration fees and Sprinzl travel grants at a Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Congress (see the current Â鶹¶ÌÊÓƵ Congress website for details)
